  • Katherine Dyer,
    DVM
    Owner/Medical Director

    Dr. Dyer has spent 20+ years as a doctor embracing the full diversity of veterinary medicine, practicing in small animal, large animal, exotic and emergency care. After years of experience came the desire to build a great hospital of her own: Lake Geneva Veterinary Hospital (now Family Pet Practice) was purchased in 2004, followed by Wixom Veterinary Clinic (now Wixom Family Pet Practice) in 2011. She has a strong dedication to all pets and the families who love them, as evidenced by her own multi-species family of 2 boys, dogs, cats, rabbits, horses and sheep. In her free time, you will find her outdoors, riding horses, kayaking, camping or SCUBA diving.

  • Jacquelin Pozdol, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Pozdol knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a young age, and never took her eyes off her goal. Michigan born and raised, she is a graduate from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and is very excited to serve the Wixom community. Her interests include preventative and integrative medicine. She goes to church with her family every Sunday, and loves to spend spare time with friends, family, and her senior dog, Buddy.

  • Lauren Wylie, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Wylie is a distinguished 2024 alumna of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, having completed her clinical rotations at Louisiana State University. Dr. Wylie is particularly passionate about the integral role veterinarians play in fostering profound bonds between pets and their owners. She is committed to equipping pet parents with comprehensive knowledge to make informed decisions regarding their animal companions' health and well-being.

    Dr. Wylie shares her life with two dogs, Finn, a Mini Australian Shepherd, and Jace, a Bichon mix, as well as two snakes, Yoshi and Miso. Her professional interests are varied and include exotic animal medicine, dentistry, radiology, surgery, and integrative medicine. Beyond her veterinary practice, Dr. Wylie enjoys enriching her life through reading, traveling, exploring music, and sampling diverse culinary experiences.

    Dr. Wylie is thrilled to be joining the esteemed team at Wixom Family Pet Practice and looks forward to serving the pet families within the Wixom community with dedication and expertise.

  • Casey O'Connor, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. O’Connor is a caring and dedicated veterinarian whofearfree graduated from Michigan State University in 2002. With a deep, lifelong love of animals and a commitment to their well being, she has cultivated a special interest in senior pet care, preventative care, and dermatology and strives to help pets live long, comfortable, healthy lives. Dr. O’Connor is committed to empowering pet parents to support and care for their animals to the best of their ability.

    A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Dr. O’Connor enjoys continuing education and is currently working to become a Fear Free certified practitioner. Outside of practice, Dr. O’Connor enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, baking, cooking, spending time outdoors, and watching her 3 kids grow and play sports.

  • Jenna Shelton, CVOM
    Practice Manager

    Originally from the west side of the state, Jenna graduated from Western Michigan University in 2018. She relocated to the Wixom area to pursue a career in nonprofit management but was soon won over by the world of veterinary medicine. certificate

    Jenna is an active member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association and recently earned her CVOM (Certified Veterinary Office Manager). She is passionate about client and employee education and strives to help her team achieve their professional goals and thrive in their positions.

    Jenna lives in Wolverine Lake with her husband Matt and their 3 girls - Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix Alaska, and cats Honey and Matilda. When she is not at work, she can be found reading a good book or working on a craft project.

    After spending 13 years in pediatric urology, she decided on a career change to pursue her love of animals. When not at work she can usually be found with her nose in a book.

    Rebecca has been working in vet med for over 20 years and loves it! Her passion is in patient care. She loves making the patients feel comfortable and welcome as well as their pet parents. Rebecca has 5 children and 2 kittens at home and is very excited to get to know everyone at Wixom Family Pet Practice!

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Karen has been with WFPP since 2018. She has a passion to educate owners to care for their pets successfully and practicing Fear Free for patient comfort during visits to the clinic. She graduated from Macomb Community College in 2006. During her teen years, caring for a highly medical needs Beagle, she wanted to be a LVT. In her spare time she enjoys being with her Husband and step daughter, caring for her cat Boo, and spending time in nature.

  • Ashley R.
    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Ashley is our newly Licensed Veterinary Technician!  She began working at a horse and small animal shelter in Colorado when she was 14 years old, and has worked as a veterinary assistant in both shelter medicine and general practice for many years.  Ashley attended Baker College's Veterinary Technology Program and graduated in 2024.  We are very proud to announce that Ashley has just passed her board examinations!  

    Ashley is passionate about pathology and disease processes, preventative care, and client education.  She and her family have a dog, Geddy, and 2 cats- Patchouli and Zsa Zsa.  
    In her free time, you can find Ashley fishing, hiking, camping and exploring botany!

    Veterinary Assistant

    Marina has a huge love and passion for animals.  She has so much that she has 5 cats of her own and a fish tank. When she is not at work you can find her either dog walking, exploring outdoors with her partner,  or crocheting with a cat in her lap.  Marina has been in the vet field for 4 years and plans to be for many more!

    Veterinary Assistant

    Amanda has had a lifelong love of animals and passion for improving her lives!  She graduated from Rossfearfree Medical Education Center's Veterinary Assistant program in 2020, completed an externship, and began her career in small animal medicine.  Amanda has an interest in  anesthesia and learning about new advancements in veterinary medicine to best serve clients and their pets.  


    Amanda and her daughter share their home with 4 cats, 3 dogs, and 1 bearded dragon!  Amanda's happy place is the great outdoors- she loves hiking, tubing, kayaking, but you can also find her reading a good book, playing video games, or getting creative with paint and art materials.

    Anya has loved animals for as long as she can remember, which made pursuing a career in animal care a natural choice. She earned her degree in Zoology from Michigan State University and previously worked at a zoo, gaining experience with a wide range of species. Now, she’s excited to be part of a veterinary team that shares her passion for helping animals thrive. At home, Anya enjoys the company of her cat, Pixie, and her leopard gecko, Kirby. In her free time she loves reading, playing video games with friends, and trying out new recipes!

    Veterinary Assistant

    Jackie is a proud graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Zoology, concentration in Neurobiology and Animal Behavior. With over nine years of experience in the veterinary field, her main interests include surgery, critical care, and exotic animal care. Outside of work, she loves to relax and hangout with her animals - Nemo (dog), Bella (cat), and Erebus (leopard gecko). Jackie also enjoys reading, being outside in the summertime, and camping!

    Emma knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field since she was five years old. She is currently in school at Macomb Community College pursuing a degree as a Licensed Veterinary Technologist. At home she has a cat, dog, and turtle. Outside of work she enjoys being outside, playing the piano, and spending time with friends and family.
